Huanghua port had shipped 200.24 million tonnes of coal in the year to December 13, nine days earlier in completing 200 million tonnes of shipment, China Water Transport reported.
This was the fourth consecutive year for the port's coal shipment to exceed 200 million tonnes. It made Huanghua the largest coal handling port in China, playing a significant role in ensuring energy supply for the nation.
In November, the port averagely loaded 724,000 tonnes of coal each day, despite impact from extreme weather.
The port is owned by CHN Energy and located on the south side of the Bohai bay. In 2016, Huanghua port exceeded Qinhuangdao port to become the largest coal port in China.
In 2022, Huanghua port delivered 205.16 million tonnes of coal, data showed.
