Coal production of Mongolia came in at 8.21 million tonnes in March 2024, rising 33.08% year on year and 21.48% month on month, showed data from the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.
The country produced a total 21.93 million tonnes of coal over the first three months this year, jumping 24.52% from the preceding year.
Mongolia's iron ore production was 780,000 tonnes in March, surging 154.65% on the year and 112.24% on the month, marking the second consecutive month's growth. This included 348,300 tonnes of iron sand, hiking 86.06% year on year and 31.78% from the previous month, and 431,700 tonnes of iron concentrate, soaring 262.47% from a year ago and 318.31% month on month.
Production of iron ore in Mongolia totaled 1.49 million tonnes over January-March, up 62.87% year on year. Iron sand output was 790,900 tonnes, 35.75% higher than the year-ago level, and iron concentrate production increased 110.53% to 697,700 tonnes.
